OUR TOYS

The Toy Library provides a vast array of well-made toys that have been designed to support your child’s skills development and imagination.

Young children’s play allows them to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning. The intellectual and cognitive benefits of playing have been well documented. Children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills, language development, and are able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning.

OVERDUE ITEMS

We currently do not charge overdue fees however this may change in the future. If you are unable to return your toys on time, please renew online in your member portal or contact us.

TOY HYGIENE

In the interest of our children and the presentation of our toys, members are requested to clean toys before returning to the library

It is suggested that baby toys are cleaned both prior to use and return with a mild disinfectant as an additional hygiene precaution.

A cleaning table and products are provided at the library for last minute cleaning by the member returning the item.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Toys borrowed must be used in accordance of the purpose for which they are intended and by children of an appropriate age and level of understanding with appropriate adult supervision.  Please note that some toys have small parts and are not suitable for children under three years of age. To avoid suffocation or injury please keep toy boxes and bags away from children.

LOST/DAMAGED ITEMS

When you borrow items, it is essential that you check you have all the pieces of the toy. Please contact if you notice a toy is incomplete, or you locate a missing piece in your home.

If you return a toy with a piece/s missing, you will be encouraged to borrow it again for another fortnight so that you can find the missing piece and keep it together with the rest of the toy.

If you are unable to find the missing item, or an item has been damaged beyond repair, Committee may request that you replace the item, or pay for the cost or replacement. This decision will be made by the Librarian on the day.
