OUR TOYS
The toy library provides a vast array of well-made toys that have been selected to support your child’s skills development and imagination. We cater to ages 0-7; however, there is no age limit on play, so older members are welcome too!
Play allows children to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks, and create meaning. The intellectual and cognitive benefits of playing have been well documented. Children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills, improved language development, and are better able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning.

TYPES OF TOYS
The Toy Library has a wide variety of toys suitable for ages 0 - 6 years. Types of toys include:
+ Ride on toys
+ Toddler Toys
+ Musical Instruments
+ Outdoor Climbing Toys
+ Water & Sand Tables
+ Costumes

+ Board Games
+ Construction Toys
+ Doll Houses
+ Sports Equipment
+ And much more!
BORROWING INFORMATION
BORROWING TIMES:
Please note if you arrive in the last 10 minutes of the open session, only returning toys will be accepted, as volunteers will be busy closing up.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Both locations are closed over the summer break & public holiday long weekends. Please check social media for closure dates.
BORROWING LIMITS
Each family can borrow 6 toys per membership, or 4 toys if you have chosen a trial membership.
BORROWING CYCLE
Toys are loaned for 2 weeks at a time. You are able to renew most toys for up to 6 weeks total. Some of our more popular toys do not allow renewals, to ensure they continue to circulate. Toys also can't be renewed if another member has them on hold.
OVERDUE ITEMS
We currently do not charge overdue fees; however, this may change in the future. If you are unable to return your toys on time, please renew online in your member portal or contact us.
TOY HYGIENE
We ask members to clean toys before returning to the library. We suggest that baby toys are cleaned both before use and before return with a mild disinfectant as an additional hygiene precaution. A cleaning table and products are provided at the library for last-minute cleaning by the member returning the item.
MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Toys must be used in the way they are intended to be used, and by children of an appropriate age and level of understanding with appropriate adult supervision. Please note that some toys have small parts and are not suitable for children under three years of age. To avoid suffocation or injury, please keep toy boxes and bags away from children.
LOST AND DAMAGED ITEMS
When you borrow items, it is essential that you check you have all the pieces of the toy. Please contact if you notice a toy is incomplete, or if you locate a missing piece in your home.
If you return a toy with a piece/s missing, you will be encouraged to borrow it again for another fortnight so that you can find the missing piece and keep it together with the rest of the toy.
If you are unable to find the missing item, or an item has been damaged beyond repair, the Committee may request that you replace the item, or pay for the cost or replacement. The librarian will discuss this with you on the day.
