BECOME A VOLUNTEER

The Cockburn Toy Library is a community-based organisation, passionate about supporting families in our local community. The toy library is supported by members who as a condition of membership volunteer their time 3-4 times a year to assist with the general running of the library. (Note: this does not apply to non-active members)

The Cockburn Toy Library is currently looking for volunteers to help us open and run our regular sessions  during the week.

ROLE DETAILS

The volunteer role includes the following:

​

  • Attending the Library for our open sessions

  • Setting up the desks, tables, and signage

  • Arrange the toys throughout the library before opening time

  • Assist members with the processing of returns and loans

  • Introduce new members and show them the available toys

  • Organising the returning of toys on to the shelves in the library in a way that ensures they are still visible and appealing

  • Make a note of toys that are needing repair or missing pieces replaced

  • Pack away the toys and desks at closing

  • Actively promote the benefits of the Toy Library and the importance of volunteers
