New Year, New Open Hours!
We are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday 7th January for our first session of 2023!
Last year we had trialled a Wednesday session at Atwell, however it did not prove to be as popular as we had hoped. As a result, we have decided to move Wednesdays to Coolbellup instead. Going forward, our hours will be: ATWELL Saturday 9:30am - 11:30am COOLBELLUP Tuesday 9:30am - 11:30am Wednesday 9:30am - 11:30am Saturday 11:30am - 1:30pm A reminder that we will be closed on Saturday 28 January 2023, as this coincides with the Australia Day Public Holiday.
You can always check opening hours on the member website if you are unsure.
Toy Holds
You may have noticed a new PLACE HOLD button when browsing toys in our online database. If there is a particular toy you have been hanging out to borrow, but it's never in the library when you visit - a hold will put you next in line! Please note that this is only for toys which are out on loan, and the toy will remain reserved for you for 7 days before moving on to the next member in the queue. Once a hold is placed, you will receive an email to confirm. When the member returns that item, you will receive another email to let you know which branch to collect it from. We are trialling this system, so please let us know if you have any feedback.
Multilingual Toys
At the AGM in November we launched our new language toys - look out for the yellow Multilingual symbol on the toy label when you are next in.
There are 25 toys currently and we hope to keep adding more as the year goes on.
If you know of a great toy which promotes languages other than English, we want to hear about it.
Donate to CTL
After the holiday season, if you are doing a clean out of your children's toys - think about donating them to us! As long as the items are in good condition, robust and easy to clean we will happily add them to our toy collection. Anything not suitable will be forwarded on to a charity shop. Alternatively, there's still time to financially contribute to our cause. Did you know you or your business can make a tax deductible cash donation to our peak body Toy Libraries Australia, who are a registered Deductible Gift Recipient. All you need to do is visit Give Now - Toy Libraries Australia then choose your donation amount and enter Cockburn Toy Library as your donation destination. It's that simple! Not looking for an opportunity to donate but know someone or a business that is? Please forward them the link and tell them to nominate Cockburn Toy Library for their tax deductible donation. Donations can be made at any time of the year at the above link, all amounts go to helping us refresh toys, and replenish items like batteries and boxes.
Join our committee!
Cockburn Toy Library still looking for members to come on board on our committee to help with finances. Ideally we are seeking out people with experience or interest in accounting, fundraising, HR or payroll. You will join a team of community minded parents who work together to run this fantastic toy library. This can be a great way to brush up on skills or ease back into a working environment.
