May 2024 Newsletter

CLOSED Wednesday 8 May 2024

Our Coolbellup Toy Librarian Marissa will be away in May and the volunteer committee will be stepping in to run those sessions. Unfortunately we do not have someone to coordinate the upcoming Wednesday session for 8 May. The toy library will be closed that day - any member with toys due has had them renewed for another week.

New Roster Process for Active Members

The task of following up Active members to complete their roster duties has become difficult to manage.

From 1 June 2024 Cockburn Toy Library will have new procedure where Active members who have surpassed 3 months of membership will be automatically assigned volunteer shifts by the committee.

To avoid being nominated for a date that does not work for you, please access the Calendar and select a Member Volunteer roster which is either Blue or Grey.

Rosters in Green are good to go and Red rosters mean we are overstaffed!!

Calendars will be published 3 months in advance to help you better schedule in your roster duties.

Containers for Change Fundraising

Don't let your containers go to waste - give the 10c to us!

Did you know that we are a registered cause with Containers for Change? If you are feeling generous at a refund point, please use our member number C11040663 or alternatively bring your containers to our branches and we will take them to a depot to claim the refund. We have C4C green mesh bags for you to take home and fill - every full bag returned to us will earn you an extra week of membership FREE!

Toys on Hold

For members who spend time on our online database, you will have noticed there is a green Place Hold button available on some toy pages. Well, what does this mean?

There are some firm favourites in our collection - you can see some of these in our Feature Toys section.

Often these toys do not make it into the toy library or onto the shelf for long between loans. By placing a hold on a toy you will be next in line to borrow it once the member before you returns it.

Some things to note!

  • You can only place a hold on a toy that is currently out on loan

  • There is a limit of 2 holds per membership at any one time, to keep it manageable

  • We ask that toys are collected within 7 days from receiving the notification email

  • We cannot control where the toy will end up, collection of your hold could be from Atwell or Coolbellup
