📅 April Long Weekend Closures
Please note that the toy library will be closed over the Easter long weekend as well as the ANZAC Day long weekend.
Both branches will be CLOSED on the following dates:
Saturday 4 April 2026
Saturday 25 April 2026
We encourage members to plan ahead for any toy swaps and returns - anything out on loan will be extended for a further 7 days. Don't stress if you cant make it the following weekend - just return your toys when you next have time. We hope you all enjoy a safe and happy April with your families!
🌭 Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser - ANZAC Day
Sign up to help out for our upcoming Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser. It is scheduled for 11:30am - 4:30pm on Saturday 25 April 2026 at the Bibra Lake Bunnings. These events are a fantastic way to raise funds for the toy library, but we rely on member support to make them happen successfully.
Members who help out for can count this towards their volunteering duties. If you have time that day to assist with cooking, taking payments, serving, or setup/pack down, put your name down to volunteer using the button below.
Do you know about Toy Holds?
A quick reminder about our toy hold system: this allows members to be "next in line" to borrow some of our most popular toys. Often these toys are returned and loaned out right away, without spending time on the shelf in our branches. Any toy out on loan can be placed on hold - you will see a green PLACE HOLD button appear under the toy title. Any toy which is in the library won't be available for holds because you could just walk into the branch and collect it yourself!
Once you've successfully placed a hold - You'll get an email to confirm the hold has been recorded, and then another email once it becomes available telling you which location to collect your toy hold from.
Unfortunately we cannot control which branch toys are returned to, please be mindful of this when using Toy Holds.

Committee Busy Behind the Scenes…
Your committee has recently submitted applications for multiple grants for National Science Week, Variety Heart Health and urban greening project Let's Grow. These grants would support upgrades to our toy collection, improve the branches and help enhance the overall experience for members.
We’ll keep you updated on the outcomes—fingers crossed!
Active Member Roster Duties

Do you still have outstanding duty to complete for your membership? April & May dates are now up.
Log into the SeTLS database to nominate a day that works for you on the calendar roster. Make sure you are nominating as a Member Volunteer, and please only select roster slots which are Blue or Grey. Rosters in Green are good to go and Red rosters mean we are overstaffed!!
Moss, Marissa & Nathan are so grateful for members help to run our sessions - we really couldn't do it without you!
Grill'd Local Matters
We’re excited to share that Cockburn Toy Library has been selected to participate in the Grill’d Local Matters program at Cockburn Gateways for the month of April. When dining at Grill’d please consider supporting us by placing your token in our jar!! At the end of April if we have the jar with the most tokens - Grill'd will gift us $300 which will go straight into the purchase of new toys.
As a bonus they have given us a voucher for each child at the toy library - valid for a FREE Mini Me Pack with any purchase of a burger or salad at Grill'd Cockburn for the month of April.
Look out for the vouchers when you're next in branch 😊
Containers for Change Recycling
Don't let your containers go to waste - give the 10c to us!
Did you know that we are a registered cause with Containers for Change? If you are feeling generous at a refund point, please use our member number C11040663 to donate to us.
Alternatively we have C4C green mesh bags at Coolbellup for you to take home and fill - and if you return full bags of eligible recyclable containers to us - we will reward you with an additional week to your toy library membership.
If half our members filled a green mesh bag with eligible containers we would raise around $250 - just like that!
