The Toy Scoop - April 2023

April 2023 Newsletter Public Holiday Closures There are a few public holidays littered throughout April! Our toy library is always closed over the long weekend. This means that both branches will be closed on the following dates: Saturday 8 April Saturday 22 April Please do not attend Atwell or Coolbellup on these days, as there will not be anyone present! If you are ever unsure, you can always check our open days & session hours on the SeTLS member website. Member Website International Toy Library Conference

Renae & Marissa had a grand time in Melbourne representing Cockburn Toy Library at the ITLA events! They heard from eminent representatives in the early learning, sustainability and play advocacy fields in many workshops and seminars. There were also delegates from all over - New Zealand, Taiwan, Netherlands, Colombia, France, South Africa..... It was incredible to see so many like minded people from all over the world. They have both come back with bright ideas which they are hoping to implement throughout the year, so that we can keep improving our toy library and community.

Non Standard Volunteering For members who have an Active membership, but find it hard to volunteer during our regular sessions - please reach out to the Committee. There are lots of tasks that can be done online or out of hours, for example:

  • A bulk wash of our dress up costumes

  • Displaying our vinyl signs around Cockburn

  • Glueing and simple repairs of broken toys

  • Adding instructions to our Games

Send us an email at and we can work out a way for your family to contribute Member Review Form Thank you to all the members who have previously filled out our quick 2 minute form! The information you provide here helps us see what our members like, and tells us if we are doing a good job as a committee. If you have a moment, we would love it if you could give us your feedback. Submit here! City of Cockburn Toy Swap As part of the City of Cockburn's commitment to sustainability, they have teamed up with us to bring the community a toy swap event. 9:00am on Saturday 29 April All you need to do is bring along "good and playable" condition toys your kids don't use anymore and exchange them for toys they will love. Bring whatever you have and take whatever you like, and best of all, it’s FREE. Register your attendance by clicking the image here ➡
